A simple yet flavorful twist on Brussels sprouts, this dish combines the nutty crispness of pan-fried sprouts with the umami-rich taste of toasted nori seaweed. For an authentic Japanese touch, try using sesame oil in place of olive oil. It’s a quick, nourishing side that brings out the best in just a few ingredients.

Ingredients:
<Serves: 4-5>
400g (14 oz) Brussels sprouts
2 tbsp olive oil (or sesame oil for a Japanese twist)
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
Toasted nori seaweed, crumbled or cut into thin strips (to taste)
Instructions:
Trim the stems the Brussel sprouts in half lengthwise.

Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the Brussels sprouts cut-side down and let them cook undisturbed for 3–4 minutes until they begin to brown.
Sprinkle with sea salt and black pepper. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, for another 4–5 minutes, or until the sprouts are tender and golden brown on the edges.

Transfer to a serving dish and top with crumbled or shredded toasted nori seaweed. Serve immediately.
