Raspberry & Amazake Smoothie


Amazake (Ama = sweet & Zake (sake) = alcohol) is a sweet fermented drink made from water, white or brown rice and salt. My friend gave me this amazake made from brown rice. I usually like to make desserts with amazake. My mother told me when she eat amazake with yogurt, she improves her digestive system because amazake is a good source of probiotics. And amazake is also rich in fibers!

I would like to introduce my favorite amazake smoothie. I used raspberries in this recipe, but you can put any fruits. I used this amazake from Japan ⇩but you can buy at Amazon (see the link below⇩).

frozen raspberries and lemon

<Ingredients : 1 serving >

1 cup unsweetened almond milk

3 Tbsp Amazake

1/2 cup frozen raspberries + 1/2 cup fresh raspberries

1 small lemon : one of 4 - 6 wedges or 1 Tbsp lemon juice

<Instruction>

1. Add all ingredients in a blender.

2. Process for 1 minute until smooth.

3. Serve immediately.

Note:

- I used both frozen and fresh raspberries, but only frozen or fresh works well too.

- You can use any milk : cow milk, soy milk, oat milk, coconut milk, etc.
